The sorcerous "Another lover" by Andy Compton and singer Rogiers has been a favorite with many DJs, producers and us here at Spirit of House ever since the original version was released on the seminal "Miami Uncuts 2014" compilation earlier this year. Now the song gets a well deserved full single released loaded with an eclectic selection of remixes, with more mixes to come in a future Tony Records compilation. First up, the team of Mark Picchiotti, Craig Stewart & Dale Nortier deliver a breath-taking old skool inspired re-imagination laced with smooth jazz sax, live flute, rhythmic guitar and wicked piano stabs. Next is Andy Compton's lively masterly orchestrated 'Rurals Mix' oozing with a glamorous laidback organic vibe, followed by DJ Vivona's compelling deep tech-soul workout fueled with tantalizing melodies, and last but not least Drive Red 5 drop two alternate tech house remixes sure to rock the bigger rooms.

Over the last couple of years, house music from the motherland has become a dominating force in the world of dance music. While often the focus is on the house music scene and artists from South Africa, other countries on the African content possess a prosperous scene and up and rising artists as well. Take for example Zimbabwe where Mqondisi 'Skaiva' Sibanda is hailing from. His latest offering "It's love" is a marvelous soul oozing production guaranteed to make you yearn for more thanks to gentle yet spell binding tribal-esque rhythms, the unmistakable emotive vocals of Rudo Nyoni and heavenly keys and chords. Back in early 2009, Reelgroove Records graced us with "Love on its way" by Lewis Ferrier, a soulful yet captivating production featuring the sultry vocals of Mavis Acquah alongside jazzy keys and lovely synth chords over a ruthlessly pounding backdrop. The package included stunning remixes by Morten Trust who injects old skool flavored funky vibes to intensify the vibe while keeping the overall feel soulful, and Dutchican Soul who takes the track to deeper utterly hypnotizing yet slightly dark grounds. Now this gorgeous soulful gem from a few years back gets a welcome re-release by Stimulated Soul Recordings including all the mixes from the original release, and there will be also a second part with fresh remixes from some of todays hottest talents following soon. |
