In the not so distant future, KingStreet will release "Reformed Classics 2012", a collection of songs from the labels unrivaled back catalogue re-touched and re-tweaked by some of house music's most respected and up and coming producers. As a taster, the label presents the TraxSource sampler which features seven mixes of three tracks from said compilation. First up we have Groove Assassin taking on DJ Pierre's "Sometimes I feel" from 2004, taking Champagne's (Ikiesha Wilson) sultry vocals to whole new heights on his laidback rendition built around smooth percussive rhythms and grand keys. Next Dazzle Drums take on Basil's 1991 anthem "City streets" and bless us with an utterly deep truly mesmerizing workout. Last but no least, Danny Clark adds his magic touch to "Take the time" by UDAUFL featuring Arnold Jarvis, turning this 2004 classic into a timeless soulful gem combining the inimitable vocals of Arnold Jarvis with marvelous keys and smooth yet thrilling rhythms. |
