** Exclusive Preview ** Bomba Records follow up their current afro deep club favorite "Lobola" by Nomzamo Dlamini with the "Heaven EP" courtesy of Willy & Reloaded. The 'Sculptured Original Mix' of "Heaven" features sensitive vocals by Siba alongside exquisite keys over a deep and soulful yet spell binding backing. Next we have remixes by Paris Cesvette, Mphoza, Euan Mitchell, Dario M and Gordheaven all adding their distinctive touch to the track while keeping the overall feel soulful. But it doesn't stop here as there is the fantastic bonus cut "Everybody get down" featuring Lil Soul on vocals which is another soulful house jewel deserving its own release. ** Exclusive Preview ** "Open up your eyes" by JohNick (aka Johnny De Mairo and Nicholas Palermo) was originally released in 1998 on Henry Street Records, and has been a favorite with lovers of disco-house ever since (for those that don't know, the track is based on "One more minute" by Saint Tropez from 1978). Thanks to Nassau (Thomas Deschamps and Didier Limonet) this track now returns as a full vocal production featuring amazing vocals by Krista alongside a killer guitar by Thomas Naim and celestial keys and classic strings, all perfectly arranged over a smooth yet infectious funk soaked backing. |

About four month ago, we reviewed "Abigail" by Black Sauce (Peter Oakden, Julian Bendall and Ricky Reid) on promo which as become one of our 2010 favorites, now they present the follow up "The love of you" featuring songstress Selina Campbell who impresses with an incredible emotional vocal performance on this masterly orchestrated production featuring keys by Julian Bendall and Ricky Reid, guitar and bass by Mark Ralph, trumpet by Dominic Glover and trombone by Nichol Thompson. "The love of you" is soulful and laidback yet contaminous, as its predecessor it has timeless written all over it. |

With "Soulful House Journey", KingStreet launches yet another series that promises to be a treat for the lovers of house music - and the first installment sure is a gem. It is a fantastic selection of deep and infectious yet soulful dance floor tunes masterly sequenced and mixed by the legendary Frankie Feliciano, an eclectic selection of unreleased, new and classics from the vast KingStreet / NiteGrooves catalogue. Included are the rare acapella of Peven Everett's "I can't believe I loved her", "Movin' on" by Real Thing (aka Frankie Feliciano himself) and "Better" by Tomo Inoue featuring Stephanie Cooke to name but a few. A sampler with selected tracks will be released a few weeks ahead of the release of the full compilation. |

** Blast from the Past ** The original version of "Let the past rest" produced by 4:20 (aka Mustafa Shabbar and Leon Roberts) and performed by Farid Unique was out on the promo only "The YO-Sampler" on YellOrange Records 12" in 2001 and the "YellOrange Collection - Colors Of Music" 3xCD compilation released by Kernel Records in 2003. However this marvelous remix by Dino & Terry never saw the light of the day.. |

Daddy Funk are going from strength to strength, and this latest release is a prime example why they are considered one of the hottest labels at the moment. Edmund teams up with vocalist Natasha for "Fantasy", a funk soaked smoothly stompin' affair featuring outstanding vocals and wonderful jazzy sax. Lots of thrilling remixes included, with Ray Paxon serving a deep resistless late night thumper fueled with phat keys, while Seb Skalski's remix is an uber cool deep'n'soulful affair. House Device give us a laidback interpretation which is truly seductive, while Carlos Vargas' version oozes with a matchless jazzed-up soul vibe. Mojito spices up the funky flavors on his chunky rework, followed by Lee Tristram whose synth driven mix is on a deep somewhat moody tip. Next are two equally great organic mixes by DJ Bassi, with Doobie J & Rob Capewell completing the package with their main room mixes. |

After a more than two year long hiatus, Under My Skin Records return with the massive "It's about you" by Mr. V., featuring vocals and lyrics from his brother here going under the name of Big Daddy. It's all about the thoughtful spoken words and luscious melodies, perfectly arranged over a deeply bouncin' backdrop altogether creating a relentless feel. The remixes are courtesy of a trio of Los Angeles producers, with The Funkaducers delivering a more laidback rub on a jazz-funky tip, while Jesse Brooks & Tony Noodles toughen things up for a contaminous tech-soul ride. Lastly, Jerry Flores takes the track to late night territory on his remix laced with lush melodies. |

What a treat this collaboration between The Rurals and South African crew Magic Soul is... The deep afrotastic "It's hot in Africa" features outstanding vocals and spoken words alongside a masterly orchestration - the result is sheer musical bliss, a musical gem spreading a laidback yet infectious feel making you yearning for more. And then there is the 'Rurals Crazy Jam Mix' oozing with a live jam session feel - simply essential and timeless. Miss it at your own risk - there's nothing more to be said. |
