Yellorange must be considered one of the most prolific house music labels in history. Founded in 1998 by the legendary Tony Humphries, the label closed its doors after a short run only in 2003 when Strictly Rhythm (who handled its distribution) collapsed. In those few years, the label put out nothing but quality music, with many -if not all - of these releases being considered a classic nowadays - just think of "Rescue me" by Sunkids, "Freedom" by Midnight Express featuring Sabrina Johnston, "In my arms" by DJ Pope & Una, "It's alright" by 8B or "Ups & downs" by Kimiesha Holmes to name only a few.

The second single lifted from Sunlightsquare's forthcoming long player "Britannia shing-a-ling" is a virtuoso cover of Cuban latin-jazz percussionist Mongo Santamaria's 1976 classic "O mi shango", featuring lead vocals from Rene Alvarez. From the timeless cuban-jazz reminiscent original version over to the latin infused housed-up remixes by Fuzion (Franke Estevez & George Mena), Mustafa and Sunlightsqaure's own 'Liberation Mix', this is sheer musical bliss. Make no mistake and put this right on top of your shopping list.

What a musical treat we have here !! 60 Hertz Project is a live performing group from Pretoria (South Africa) fusing jazz with house, and the result is just phenomenal. The jazz house masterpiece "Capricorn" is their first ever release, oozing with marvelous vibraphone and guitar solos and celestial melodies perfectly arranged over a thrilling groove. The song is taken to the next level by Essential I, Ralf GUM and QB Smith, all staying true to the original vibe while adding their own distinctive touch. A record that has class and timeless written all over it, one to stay in the box for a long long time to come...

It has only been two weeks since Adaption Music blessed us with "The sky" by Haldo featuring Melanie Gerren, now they have the next musical gem courtesy of Tom Conrad ready who teams up with the legendary Dawn Tallman for "So happy", an infectious yet soulful production featuring heartfelt vocals and delicious keys. Various delectable remixes by the likes of Kenny Carjaval, Satoshi Fumi, Cassady Locke and Trancemicsoul are included, each of them injecting his signature soulful respectively deep touch to take the track to the next level. Another release not to be missed from Adaptation Music.

Italian production team DaSouL & Fabry Diglio pull out all the stops on "Feels so good", a marvelous production featuring an outstanding vocal performance by the one and only Stephanie Cooke which is accompanied by exquisite keys and chords, all perfectly arranged over a smooth and soulful yet thrilling backing in the 'HouseGarage Mix'. The package includes an incredible selection of mixes to choose from including a deep melodious dub, the classy broken beat flavored 'Mindsoul Guitar Mix', the 'Nu Jazz Liveapella Mix' oozing with a masterly live feel and remixes courtesy of Mad Boss, Jose Carretas, Jask, Sted-E & Hybrid Heights and Mr. V all adding their unique touch to the song. Timeless and essential.

"Banane mavoko" by South Africa's Black Motion was released last summer on FaiMos Entertainment and was in heavy rotation at this years Winter Music Conference in its original version thanks to hypnotic percussion driven afro-tribal rhythms and wicked vocals by Jah Rich (R.I.P). Tribe Records are about to release an eclectic set of remixes by the likes of Justin Imperiale who relaxes the vibe on his masterly orchestrated interpretation, Jose Marquez who delivers an intriguingly deep'n'sexy percussion heavy afro-soul workout and Josh Milan (Blaze) whose afro-beat version reminiscent to the one and only Fela Kuti. A wonderful song remixed to perfection...

Mikki Afflick, principle of Soul Sun Soul Music, takes you on a trip to deepest afro-house territory with her latest production. "I am Africa" features inspirational spoken word poetry by Mona Bode, wicked organ play and melodious keys over deep infectious percussive rhythms. The remixes courtesy of Dr. Thiza and Khanya Balani take the track to the next level, both of them staying true to the deep afro vibe of the original: Dr. Thiza intensifies the feel on his irresistible tribal infused remix, while Khanya Balani smoothes things down on his afro-jazz flavored interpretation.

Italy's Haldo returns to Adaptation Music with "The sky", a wonderful production featuring outstanding vocals by Melanie Gerren alongside delicious keys and chords over a smooth yet captivating backing. Haldo's own three mixes alone make this a sure fire dance floor favorite - with an added selection of versatile remixes by hot New York duo Louie Gorbea & Chris Perez, rising stars Pablo Fierro, Trancemicsoul and  BlackSonix, this must be considered one of the finest soulful house releases of recent months. An essential release not to be missed.

Ocha Records launch their brand new sub label Ocha Mzansi ("Mzansi" means South, short for South Africa) which aims to bring us the latest fresh, inspiring, infectious house music vibes from the creme de la creme of producers and artists in South Africa.
