What we have here is a phenomenal soul infused production courtesy of Soulplate and US songstress Noelle Barbera whose "Life in the big city" is nothing short of sheer musical bliss, with a smooth'n'organic funk soaked backdrop leading the way for lush chords and Noelle's beautiful bittersweet vocals. Junior White is on remix duty, delivering an epic eleven minute long rework laced with grand jazzy keys, illustrious chords and thrilling rhythms - undoubtedly this marvelous remix will take over dance floors globally... Lastly, there is the utterly infectious funked-up 'ReDub' by Soulplate coming complete with a killer saxophone by Trav 'saXingh' Panesar.

When we first heard about this project, we couldn't wait to get our hands on a promo copy. Finally beginning of this week the wait was over, and ever since we've been listening to the wonderful music that can be found on this breathtaking album. A total of eight individual songs are included, and as a bonus you get excellent remixes by Tony Jesus and Mr Boogie & Creso of one of the standout tracks. Beyond the shadow of a doubt, "Reflections" by South Africa's Deepconsoul is nothing short of phenomenal, with the inimitable emotive vocals of man of the moment Darian Crouse being accompanied by a masterly orchestration which includes glamorous keys, lush chords, grandiose saxophone and captivating afro-deep rhythms. We truly fell in love with this album with the very first listen, make no mistake and don't miss out on this masterpiece.

It has taken a while, but finally our favorite song from Ralf GUM's ingenious and seminal third artist album "In the city" is getting a full single release, complete with a superb remix by the incredible AtJazz. In case you were wondering, we are talking about the song that gave birth to the album's final title and features the one and only iconic South African jazz musician Hugh Masekela. The paramount "In the city" was produced by Ralf GUM together with Phil Kullmann (aka Raw Artistic Soul), with utterly infectious afro-deep rhythms leading the way for tantalizing keys and Hugh Masekela's one-of-a-kind inspiring vocals and trumpet play - in other words, a timeless slice of soulful heaven guaranteed to make you yearn for more. The remix is courtesy of AtJazz who blesses us with a mind-blowing re-imagination oozing with his unparalleled truly mesmerizing deep atmospheric sound.

In February of this year, we were celebrating the marvelous "Thankful" EP by Simon 'Schoolboy' Phillips and songstress Cheryl Lee which features seven masterly crafted productions ranging from breathtaking street soul to timeless soulful house, now the title song has been remixed by legendary DJ/producer Kenny Carpenter whose jaw-dropping interpretation is simply fabulous, with Cheryl Lee's beautiful haunting vocals being combined with illustrious jazzy keys, a classy organ and a gentle yet thrilling organic backdrop. Simon 'Schoolboy' Phillips contributes a gorgeous retouch which keeps the spirit of the original alive yet intensifies the vibe with a more energetic bassline groove.

Italy's Kikko Esse (Michele Sodano) and Klaide (Turino Vincenzo) join forces with vocalist CT Martin (Christopher Taylor) for "My angel" - in a nutshell, this is a timeless soulful masterpiece coming complete with fabulous remixes. To break it down for you, the original version is a summery uplifting affair combining CT Martin's sultry vocals with grand piano, classic strings and a gently stompin funked-up backdrop. Mark Di Meo takes the song to the next level on his marvelous jazz infused truly soulful interpretation, Klaide together with Michele Lamparell serves an utterly hypnotizing deep slightly dark underground-esque rework, and finally Emanuele Del Carmine drops a super smooth rendition laced with a glorious organ.

South Africa's Brendan Davids, better known under the Mr Boogie moniker, makes his debut on 4th Quarter Music with the jaw-dropping "African souls" EP loaded with three wonderful soulful gems. First up is "Possessed" where he teams up with San Diano to deliver a thrilling slice of afro deepness laced with heavenly melodies and deeply felt vocals of Jrome Andre. Next are two collaborations with Wily Hird: "Nothing without him" an entrancing afro-deep affair oozing with the beautiful haunting vocals of Wil B, sublime jazzy keys and luscious chords, and "You're always there" a slick deep laidback bar groove layered with Darian Crouse's inimitable emotive vocals and seductive melodies.

We haven't heard from Jack 2 Jazz Records for a while, but now they are back in grand style with the stellar "Can we" by Paris Cesvette featuring vocalists C. Robert Walker and Sabrina Chyld. "Can we" is masterly orchestrated and features the unmistakable vocal stylings of C. Robert Walker and Sabrina Chyld alongside glorious keys and grandiose saxophone by Dayve Stewart over a gentle yet spell binding percussive backdrop - pure class. Luis 'LooweeR' Rivera is taking the song to the next level on his mind-boggling latinesque re-imagination which combines the vocals with vibrant rhythms and sublime keys. Every now and then we receive new music and instantly are hooked by it. Such is the case with "The Key of Lime EP" produced by Tony Jesus and Entity (Darian Crouse), featuring the one-of-a-kind deeply felt vocals of Charles Cooper. This truly paramount EP features three equally brilliant songs ("Blessings come to you", "Come in out of the dark" and "The best in me"),with each of the songs mixed by both Tony Jesus and Entity who offer an eclectic truly ingenious selection of interpretations guaranteed to make you yearn for more, not to forget to mention the fabulous vocal performance by Charles Cooper. Quite simply, it is next to impossible to pick a favorite, and beyond the shadow of a doubt each of the three songs will stand the test of time...
