What better way to kick off the new year than this beautiful truly masterly crafted soul infused gem courtesy of DJ/producer Guido P and songstress Elan Noelle forthcoming on HSR Records. A gentle yet spell binding funked-up backdrop leads the way for exquisite sublime keys and chords, not to forget to mention Elan Noelle's paramount emotive vocals - in other words, a soulful gem guaranteed to make you yearn for more. The likes of Ondagroove, Soulbridge and Neal Conway all add their beloved distinctive soul/funk/latin/jazz infused touch, making it next to impossible to pick a favorite version. Beyond the shadow of a doubt a future classic by no means to be missed.

There ain't no stoppin' for HSR Records as they unleash another soulful gem by no means to be missed. To cut a long story short, Soulbridge and Alex Millet join forces with Mitch Matlock for "The joy in my life", a fabulous truly masterly crafted soul oozing gem having timeless written all over that is guaranteed to make you yearn for more thanks to Mitch Matlock's inimitable emotive vocals, glorious guitar by Mirko Pirozzi and luxurious keys all perfectly arranged over an infectious funk soaked backdrop. Beside the fantastic original version by Soulbridge & Alex Millet, the release includes breathtaking soul drenched interpretations by Alex Millet and Soulbridge, making it next to impossible to pick a favorite version.

Up and rising South African production team Native People (the trio of Man Q, Mr Giggs & DJ Moore) make their debut on Spirit of House with the "Inspiration EP" which includes a total of three mind-boggling original productions: "For your love" is a magnificent soul infused gem which combines deep'n'gentle yet spell binding rhythms withentrancing keys and chords, not to forget to mention the unmistakable deeply rooted vocals of Alexander James & Morzaaq - simply beautiful and guaranteed to send shivers down your spine. The other two tracks are instrumentals: "Summer dance" is deep and laidback, with dulcet rhythms leading the way for glamorous keys, while "Still searching" fuses enthralling rhythms with exhilarating melodies.

Italian DJ/producer Antonello Ferrari teams up with legendary vocalist Michael Procter for the uplifting "Get on out there" - to make it short, the result of this collaboration is simply breathtaking and guaranteed to send shivers down your spine... House music ensemble Project 5 from Johannesburg/South Africa bless us with the "Shot Encounters" EP which includes not less than five wonderful soul oozing productions having timeless written all over. Project 5 are Jabulani 'Fusion deep' Ngwenya, Earl 'Mr Bob' Edwards, Thabo 'Epic Sonic' Khubeka, Bongani 'Steven B' Mathebula and vocalist Siobhan 'Sio Blackwidow' King - to cut a long story short, their "Short Encounters" EP is truly phenomenal with each of the masterly crafted soul infused songs guaranteed to make you yearn for more thanks to the beautiful seductive vocals by Sio Blackwidow which harmonize perfectly with the marvelous orchestration. "Too much information", the title track of Dele Sosimi's long awaited 3rd album, is a sizzling afrobeat/funk infused track laced with paramount horns and inspiring vocals. Earlier this year, Quantize Recordings released remixes of the song by DJ Spen & Thommy Davis, Timmy Regisford & Adam Rios, Larry Espinosa & George Vibe Cardenas and Bad Zuke, now courtesy of Fatsouls Records come these brand new absolutely mind-blowing and timeless interpretations. DJ Said, Stephen Rigmaiden and Fuminori Kajago all add their distinctive deep/soulful/afro flavored touch to the song, keeping the spirit of the original alive yet taking this masterly crafted song to a whole new level. It is next to impossible to pick a favorite out of the three included versions, quite simply each one is guaranteed to make you yearn for more. Finest underground afro-house music by no means to be missed.

"Back & forth" is the second single taken from the breathtaking truly seminal "The Future Divas EP 2" by Simon 'Schooly' Phillips aka Soulful Session reviewed here on Spirit of House back in August of this year. "Back & forth" features the inimitable emotive vocals of Chelsea Como, exclusively for this release the original mix has been revamped by Simon 'Schoolboy' Phillips. Next is a fabulous 90' inspired rework by Craig Stewart & Dale Nortier laced with grand jazzy piano, killer saxophone and lovely flute. Following are Two 4 Soul who contribute a classic soul/funk infused rendition featuring dramatic strings and illustrious keys and organ over an infectiously groovin' backdrop. Finally, Shotdown take the song to deeper somewhat dark grounds, giving it a tantalizing feel guaranteed to send the floor into a frenzy.
